2013-2013 (hydrocephalus)
SILVERLADY'S GOTTA BE DESTINY "Aimo"
Silverlady´s Gotta Be Destiny "Aimo" 3.1.2013 - 25.3.2013
Aimo got sick on Friday 22.3. and the diagnosis was hydrocephalus or a bad meningitis. Nothing could be done. I will know more after the autopsy is done. I wish we could have found this out earlier but he was a perfectly healthy boy until Friday. Losing a puppy after you have got to know him and learned to love him because of his extraordinary personality, this is killing me.
You might think - it was just one puppy? So what? That is not true.
First, he was the whole litter - the only one. So I practically lost the whole litter.
Second, he was/is Vieno´s son. And everyone who knows Vieno and knows me, might have an idea what that girl means to me. She is a dream come true for me and her litter was the result of a lot of planning and a lot of effort. Third, Aimo was Vieno´s first and last puppy. When he was born, I decided that I will not breed Vieno again and I will stick to that. The idea of not having a Vieno-puppy is devastating. I was so happy I had Aimo, a beautiful and outgoing young boy who surely would have kept the family going one day. And last but not least, some of you met Aimo and you from all the people know what a character he was. I have never had a puppy like he was, the funny, outgoing and a bit naughty and fearless Aimo.
I hope and believe that Aimo had great 9 weeks here at his first home - the home where he was born. He could live in the whole house, play with the other dogs, play with my kids. Then he moved to his co-owners who offered him the best - their time, their love. So I have to believe he had a happy life. Short but happy.
Rest in peace my Aimo. You left us and took a piece of me with you. Aimo, when the snow is gone and the ground is not frozen anymore, I will plant a tree for you. And so will your other mother Minna. As the years go by I will watch that tree grow, as I did not see you grow up. I am sure that tree will be the most beautiful one as you would have been if we would have had just a bit of luck. I will always remember you. This has got to be destiny - time to pick up the pieces that are badly broken :´(
The autopsy confirmed that Aimo had hydrocephalus.
